Join us on Thursday, 3 April for the next Social at Pushkin House. Taking place on the first Thursday of each month at our Bar, the Socials are hosted by prominent cultural figures, activists, authors and others, who will bring you a varied and engaging evening. 

April’s Social will be hosted by travel writer, food writer and literary critic Caroline Eden, to mark the launch of her new book: Green Mountains: Walking the Caucasus with Recipes. Green Mountains is the final book in Caroline’s “colour trilogy” of travelogues and cookbooks, which includes Red Sands (2020) and Black Sea (2018). 

During the evening Caroline will reflect on her journeys – around the Black Sea, across Central Asia, and now through the valleys and mountains of Armenia and Georgia – a decade-long project that has culminated in her trilogy of books. She will explore how she has experienced these countries and cultures through food, and will share a selection of her photographs. In the spirit of recipes as “postcards” for Caroline’s readers, the Social will serve up some Georgian bites and an Armenian-inspired cocktail from Green Mountains.

The bar will be open from 6pm, and Caroline will give a short presentation at 7pm.
